July 1 - The Journal of Asian Studies has moved to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kenneth George, Professor of Anthropology and CSEAS Faculty, was appointed to a four-year term as the Journal’s Editor by the Association for Asian Studies. Jennifer Munger, who recently finished her PhD in Anthropology at UW, has been named Managing Editor.
“I’m looking forward to it just doing this here at the University. I’m so proud that the University is genuinely committed to Asian Studies and that they are willing to come up with the support to run a journal that’s the standard bearer for Asian Studies,” George said.
George, who specializes in Indonesia, will be the first Southeast Asianist
to serve as Editor of the Journal. In addition to his role as Editor,
George is also serving as the Chair of the Anthropology Department,
University of Wisconsin.
