Anna M. Gade (Ph.D. University of Chicago Divinity School, 1999) is Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Her specializations include: traditions of global Islam; Qur'an; trends in religious revitalization in Muslim Southeast Asia; Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia; theory and method in the academic study of religion; and, anthropological approaches to religion. Since 2008, her research has focused on global religious responses to environmental change; she is currently completing a book manuscript, _Islam and the Environment_.
