Paul D. Hutchcroft
Paul D. Hutchcroft,
an associate professor in the Political Science Department, specializes
in comparative politics and political economy in Southeast Asia, with
concentration on the Philippines. He is currently completing a book entitled
"The Power of Patronage: Capital and Countryside in the Twentieth-Century
Philippines," after which he will proceed to a project that examines
recent efforts to improve the quality of democracy in the Philippines,
South Korea, and Thailand. He teaches courses in comparative politics,
Third World politics and political economy, and Southeast Asian politics.
