The University
of Wisconsin Press New Perspectives in Southeast Asian Studies New Perspectives in Southeast Asian Studies is a collaboration between the University of Wisconsin Press and the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Center for Southeast Asian Studies, which was founded in 1973 and is one of the leading centers of its kind. The purpose of the series is to publish single-authored and edited books that focus on historical and contemporary issues within and among Southeast Asian countries, as well as on the region's relations with the rest of the world. These include books on cultural, economic, environmental, political, and social issues, emphasizing new perspectives and creative approaches. This series is also designed to convey the richness and depth of work being conducted on one of the world's fastest changing regions and an increasingly important center in global politics and economics.
