The red stripes represent the bloodshed in the country for it’s fight for independence. The blue stripe represents wealth and prosperity. The white circle in the middle of the flag symbolizes unity and justice. Another interpretation of the white circle and blue stripe is the full moon over the Mekong River, which runs through and alongside Laos.
